Eschew the tourist crowds and head to The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and Arabia Steamboat Museum. Escape the urban bustle at Warsaw Riverfront & Trails and Burr Oak Woods Conservation Area. Explore Kansas City's surroundings by going to Loess Bluffs National Wildlife Refuge (in Mound City), Watkins Mill State Park (in Lawson) and Knob Noster State Park (in Knob Noster).
