A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.
Take a break from the city and head to Île de la Cité and L'Orangerie. Get out of town with these interesting Paris side-trips: Fondation Claude Monet (in Giverny), Le Bois des Aigles (in Balines) and Avion Normandie - L'Eure de l'Ulm (in Saint-Aquilin-de-Pacy). Lyon is a historical city with a vibrant cultural scene as the birthplace of cinema, the silk capital of the globe, and the second biggest Renaissance city following Venice.
Visiting Lake Annecy and La Roche de Solutre will get you outdoors. Change things up with these side-trips from Lyon: Rosieres (L'Etang de la Plaine & Ravin de Corboeuf), Roc de Chere (in Talloires) and Annecy (Mysteres du Lac & Bateaux Toe).
