Situated where the Swiss, German, and French borders meet, Basel is considered the hub of Dreilandereck, this "three countries corner." Its location makes Basel a center of culture and history, brimming with important theaters and museums.

The financial hub of Switzerland, Zurich is most often associated with money and banks.
Visiting Mt Pilatus and Parasailing & Paragliding will get you outdoors. Venture out of the city with trips to Heiternplatz (in Zofingen), St. Beatus Hoehlen (in Sundlauenen) and Lucerne (Lucerne Station, Musegg Wall, &more). There's lots more to do: contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Zurich, take in the dramatic scenery at Trümmelbachfälle, stroll through Harderkulm, and hit the slopes at Grindelwald-First.

You can drive from Basel to Zurich in 1.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or take a bus. In July, daily temperatures in Zurich can reach 78°F, while at night they dip to 59°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Sat) so you can fly back home.
