Situated where the Swiss, German, and French borders meet, Basel is considered the hub of Dreilandereck, this "three countries corner." Its location makes Basel a center of culture and history, brimming with important theaters and museums.
Visiting Parasailing & Paragliding and Rochers des Sommetres will get you outdoors. Venture out of the city with trips to Gurten (in Wabern), Bern (Clock Tower - Zytglogge, Zentrum Paul Klee (Paul Klee Center), &more) and Golf Club Interlaken-Unterseen (in Unterseen). There's still lots to do: walk around Creux du Van, stop by Basel's Old Town, don't miss a visit to Town Hall, and admire the masterpieces at Fondation Beyeler.

Big Small Town

The financial hub of Switzerland, Zurich is most often associated with money and banks.
Take a break from the city and head to Lake Zurich and Rigi. Venture out of the city with trips to Au Peninsula (in Au), Sportbahnen Atzmannig (in Goldingen) and Lucerne (Kornmarkt, Chapel Bridge, &more). And it doesn't end there: wander the streets of Old Town, admire the sheer force of Rhine Falls, learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Zoo Zurich, and take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Titlis.

You can drive from Basel to Zurich in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. In April, plan for daily highs up to 58°F, and evening lows to 41°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 15th (Thu) to allow time for travel back home.
