Diu, Diu Island — 2 nights

The main town on the island of the same name, Diu connects to the south coast of Gujurat by bridge.
Bring the kids along to Ghogla Beach and INS Khukri Memorial. Discover out-of-the-way places like Gangeshwar Temple and Diu Fort. When in Diu, make a side trip to see Vanakbara Beach in Vanakbara, approximately Vanakbara away. There's more to do: kick back and relax at Nagoa Beach and explore the fascinating underground world of Naida Caves.

Chennai to Diu is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also fly; or drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 6th (Thu) so you can go by car to Somnath.

You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Nariman Point and Gateway of India. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya and Hutatma Chowk. And it doesn't end there: cruise along Marine Drive, take a stroll through Dharavi, snap pictures at Bandra-Worli Sea Link, and admire the striking features of Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.

Getting from Dwarka to Mumbai by flight takes about 3 hours. Other options: fly; or drive; or take a train. In May, plan for daily highs up to 39°C, and evening lows to 31°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 11th (Tue) to allow time for the car ride to Ganpatipule.
