Emerald City

Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Snoqualmie Falls and Whatcom Falls Park. Get in touch with nature at Fort Worden State Park and Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge. Change things up with these side-trips from Seattle: Bellingham (South Bay Trail & Squalicum Harbor Marina), North Beach Park (in Port Townsend) and Double Bluff County Park (in Freeland).
