Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez Mountains, Santa Barbara is a solid vacation destination with its wide beaches, renowned wineries, and some of California's finest shopping and dining options.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum and Santa Barbara County Courthouse. Do some cultural sightseeing at Wine Tours & Tastings and Cantara Cellars. Get out of town with these interesting Santa Barbara side-trips: The Western Foundation of Vertebrate Zoology (in Camarillo), Toccata Tasting Room (in Solvang) and Carrizo Plain National Monument (in Maricopa). There's lots more to do: make a trip to Old Mission Santa Barbara, take a leisurely stroll along Pismo Pier, get to know the resident critters at Santa Barbara Zoo, and take in the pleasant sights at Santa Barbara Harbor.
