A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.
Kids will enjoy Louvre Museum and Le Marais. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Paris: Versailles (Palace of Versailles & The Water Parterres) and Disneyland Paris (in Marne-la-Vallee). There's still lots to do: take a stroll through Montmartre, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilique du Sacre-Coeur de Montmartre, admire the striking features of Arc de Triomphe, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Île de la Cité.

Washington DC, USA to Paris is an approximately 11.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Central European Standard Time (CET), which is usually a 6 hour difference. Plan for little chillier temperatures traveling from Washington DC in September, with highs in Paris at 70°F and lows at 53°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 30th (Wed) early enough to catch the flight to Nantes.

Venice of the West

Regarded as an art and history city, Nantes is called the Venice of the West.
Kids will enjoy Aquarium La Rochelle and Plage de la Govelle. Get out of town with these interesting Nantes side-trips: Quartier Saint Nicolas (in La Rochelle), Detours en Loire (in Le Cellier) and Golf de l'Ile d'Or (in Oree d'Anjou).
