Chennai to Mumbai is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. When traveling from Chennai in May, plan for slightly colder days and about the same nights in Mumbai: temperatures range from 39°C by day to 31°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 31st (Mon) to allow enough time to fly to Goa.

Goa — 6 nights

On India's western coastline, the former Portuguese colony of Goa tells a visibly different story than the rest of India.
Kids will enjoy Baga Beach and Flying Fish. Do some cultural sightseeing at Old Goa and Naval Aviation Museum. There's still lots to do: admire the striking features of Basilica of Bom Jesus, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Our Lady of Remedios Church, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Shri Tirupati Balaji Padmavati Temple, and steep yourself in history at Mahalaxmi Temple.

You can fly from Mumbai to Goa in 3 hours. Other options are to do a combination of train and taxi; or drive. Traveling from Mumbai in May, expect nights in Goa to be about the same, around 32°C, while days are a bit cooler, around 36°C.
