Surrounded by mountain ranges, forests, valleys, beaches, and deserts, the metropolitan area of Los Angeles is home to over 17 million people.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Venice Beach and Boardwalk and Nicholas Canyon Beach. You'll explore and learn at The Getty Center and Autry Museum of the American West. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Los Angeles: Santa Monica (Santa Monica Place, Santa Monica Farmers Market, &more), Malibu (Surfrider Beach & Zuma Beach) and Rodeo Drive (in Beverly Hills). There's still lots to do: take a stroll through Montana Avenue, make a trip to Santa Monica Pier, buy something for everyone on your list at Two Rodeo Drive, and get a taste of the local shopping with Abbot Kinney Boulevard.
