Surrounded by mountain ranges, forests, valleys, beaches, and deserts, the metropolitan area of Los Angeles is home to over 17 million people.
Appreciate the collections at The Getty Center and Annenberg Community Beach House. Get outdoors at Santa Monica Bay and Santa Monica State Beach. Go for a jaunt from Los Angeles to Beverly Hills to see Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation about 50 minutes away. There's still lots to do: shop like a local with Montana Avenue, engage your brain at California Science Center, look for gifts at Edelweiss Chocolate Factory, and explore the world behind art at Hammer Museum.

Washington to Los Angeles is an approximately 39-hour car ride. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 3 hours traveling from Washington to Los Angeles. In February, Los Angeles is much hotter than Washington - with highs of 71°F and lows of 51°F. On the 9th (Tue), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can fly to San Francisco.
