Surrounded by mountain ranges, forests, valleys, beaches, and deserts, the metropolitan area of Los Angeles is home to over 17 million people.
Take a break from the city and head to Santa Monica Bay and Santa Monica State Beach. Popular historic sites such as Annenberg Community Beach House and Hollywood Forever Cemetery are in your itinerary. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Los Angeles: Santa Monica Farmers Market (in Santa Monica), Manhattan Beach (in Manhattan Beach) and Beverly Hills (Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation & Rodeo Drive). There's much more to do: take a stroll through Montana Avenue, look for gifts at Edelweiss Chocolates, look and learn at Griffith Observatory, and admire the masterpieces at Norton Simon Museum.
