The largest municipality in Missouri, Kansas City has an impressive array of world-class museums, shopping areas, and great places to eat, all of which attract tourism to the area.

Take a break from the city and head to Zip KC and Wyandotte County Lake Park. Get out of town with these interesting Kansas City side-trips: Forest Park (in Ottawa), Chapel of the Veterans (in Leavenworth) and Holladay Distillery (in Weston). The adventure continues: learn about all things military at National WWI Museum and Memorial, explore the world behind art at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, admire the natural beauty at The Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden, and get lost in a book at Harry S. Washington DC to Kansas City is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus.
