The largest municipality in Missouri, Kansas City has an impressive array of world-class museums, shopping areas, and great places to eat, all of which attract tourism to the area.
Take a break from the city and head to The St. Joseph Parkway and Remington Nature Center. Step off the beaten path and head to The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Kansas City: Prairie Fire Museum (in Leawood), Saint Joseph (Pony Express Museum & Patee House Museum) and Topeka (Kansas State Capitol Building, Evel Knievel Museum, &more). Next up on the itinerary: see the interesting displays at Harry S. Truman Presidential Library & Museum, learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead, contemplate the long history of Union Station, and take an in-depth tour of Arabia Steamboat Museum.
