Interlaken — 8 nights

Nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz in the heart of the Jungfrau region, Interlaken became popular for its proximity to the mountains and lakes of the Bernese Oberland region.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Lauterbrunnen Valley Waterfalls and Jesuitenkirche. Fondation Beyeler and Musee International d'Horlogerie are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Change things up with these side-trips from Interlaken: Oberhofen Castle (in Oberhofen am Thunersee), Thun (Vieille Ville de Thoune & Thunersee) and Lucerne (Bourbaki Panorama, Museum Rosengart Collection, &more). There's still lots to do: meet the residents at MUZOO - Zoo du Bois du Petit-Chateau, explore the activities along Lake Brienz, take in the dramatic scenery at Staubbach Waterfall, and examine the collection at Musee des Chemins de fer du Kaeserberg.

For maps, reviews, ratings, and tourist information, read Interlaken holiday planning tool.
