Pink City

Known as the "Pink City" because of the color of the stone used for many of its notable structures, Jaipur draws visitors with its chaotic street life and a slew of colorful bazaars selling everything from handmade pottery to tie-dye scarves.
Start off your visit on the 28th (Wed): get engrossed in the history at City Palace of Jaipur and then relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas. Keep things going the next day: see the sky in a new way at Jantar Mantar - Jaipur and then explore the historical opulence of Amber Palace.

Chennai to Jaipur is an approximately 4-hour flight. You can also fly; or drive; or do a combination of train, taxi, and bus. In July, plan for daily highs up to 40°C, and evening lows to 30°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 29th (Thu) so you can fly to Leh.

Leh

The former capital of the Kingdom of Ladakh, Leh possesses a historic old town area marked by stupas, monasteries, and traditional mud-brick houses.
Step off the beaten path and head to Shanti Stupa and River Rafting & Tubing. Take a break from Leh with a short trip to Alchi Monastery in Alchi, about 1h 30 min away. There's much more to do: explore and take pictures at Khardung La, trot along with a tour on horseback, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Gurudwara Shri Pathar Sahib.

Traveling by flight from Jaipur to Leh takes 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. On the 3rd (Tue), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can fly to Rishikesh.
