Pink City

Known as the "Pink City" because of the color of the stone used for many of its notable structures, Jaipur draws visitors with its chaotic street life and a slew of colorful bazaars selling everything from handmade pottery to tie-dye scarves.
On the 13th (Tue), get engrossed in the history at City Palace of Jaipur and then indulge in some personalized pampering at some of the best spas. Keep things going the next day: see the sky in a new way at Jantar Mantar - Jaipur and then steep yourself in history at Amber Palace.

Chennai to Jaipur is an approximately 4-hour flight. You can also fly; or drive; or do a combination of train, taxi, and bus. In July in Jaipur, expect temperatures between 40°C during the day and 30°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Wed) early enough to catch the flight to Leh.

The former capital of the Kingdom of Ladakh, Leh possesses a historic old town area marked by stupas, monasteries, and traditional mud-brick houses.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Shanti Stupa and Khardung La. Go for a jaunt from Leh to Alchi to see Alchi Monastery about 1h 30 min away. The adventure continues: head outdoors with Outdoor Activities, trot along with a tour on horseback, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Gurudwara Shri Pathar Sahib.

Traveling by flight from Jaipur to Leh takes 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. On the 19th (Mon), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can fly to Rishikesh.
