A World Heritage Site, the desert city of Jaisalmer has a number of historical attractions, buildings, and legends worthy of protection.Get some cultural insight at Jain Temples and Chandrakanta Art's. Step off the beaten path and head to Bellissima and Vijay Leather Works. There's still lots to do: stop by Ashok Shanti Jewellers.

The former capital of the Kingdom of Ladakh, Leh possesses a historic old town area marked by stupas, monasteries, and traditional mud-brick houses.Explore hidden gems such as Khardung La and Alchi Monastery. Head to De Pashmina Emporium and Himalayan Pashmina Shawlsfor plenty of shopping. Get out of town with these interesting Leh side-trips: Likir Gompa (in Likir) and Hazara Arts (in Srinagar).
