The former capital of the Kingdom of Ladakh, Leh possesses a historic old town area marked by stupas, monasteries, and traditional mud-brick houses.
Thiksey Monastery and Hall of Fame are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Visit Spituk Monastery and Stakna Monastery for their historical value.
