Tourism in Agra revolves around two words: Taj Mahal.

Washington, USA to Agra is an approximately 31-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 10.5 hours traveling from Washington to Agra. Traveling from Washington in May, expect Agra to be much warmer, temps between 106°F and 78°F. On the 16th (Sun), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel to Leh.

Leh — 4 nights

The former capital of the Kingdom of Ladakh, Leh possesses a historic old town area marked by stupas, monasteries, and traditional mud-brick houses.
Step off the beaten path and head to Shanti Stupa and Spituk Monastery. Get some cultural insight at Likir Gompa and Hall of Fame. Go for a jaunt from Leh to Alchi to see Alchi Monastery about 1h 30 min away. And it doesn't end there: get outside with Khardung La, take in the spiritual surroundings of Thiksey Monastery, and relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour.

Do a combination of train and flight from Agra to Leh in 9.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Thu) to allow enough time to fly to Jaipur.
