Hyères, Provençal Occitan: Ieras in classical norm, or Iero in Mistralian norm) is a commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France.The old town lies 4km from the sea clustered around the Castle of Saint Bernard, which is set on a hill. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Heraclee Beach and Plage de Gigaro. Get outdoors at La Route du Sel and Sentier Jean Francois Jube. Explore Hyeres' surroundings by going to Le Lavandou (Plage d'Aiguebelle & Plage de Jean Blanc) and Plage de Pampelonne (in Ramatuelle). There's still lots to do: stroll through Sentier du Littoral, hike along Sentier Littoral, and get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour.
