The Port of the Moon

With a long history of producing regional wines since the Romans brought grapevines here during the first century, so many people consider Bordeaux to be the wine capital of the world.
Get a sense of the local culture at Place de la Bourse and Tour Pey-Berland. Venture out of the city with trips to Chateau Petit-Village (in Pomerol), Saint-Emilion (Chateau Coutet, Chateau Laniote, &more) and Eglise Notre-Dame-des-Passes (in Arcachon). There's much more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Andre Cathedral, make a trip to Place du Parlement, explore the fascinating underground world of Lascaux Caves 4, and take in the views from Pont de Pierre.
