The Port of the Moon

With a long history of producing regional wines since the Romans brought grapevines here during the first century, so many people consider Bordeaux to be the wine capital of the world.
Get a sense of the local culture at Place de la Bourse and La Cite du Vin. Get out of town with these interesting Bordeaux side-trips: French Wine Adventures (in Saussignac), Chateau Cantenac (in Saint-Emilion) and Fort Vauban (in Fouras). There's still lots to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Andre Cathedral, make a trip to Association Hermione-La Fayette, steep yourself in history at Port of the Moon, and admire the masterpieces at CAPC Musee d'Art Contemporain.
