With a long history of producing regional wines since the Romans brought grapevines here during the first century, so many people consider Bordeaux to be the wine capital of the world.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Place de la Bourse and Tour Pey-Berland. Get out of town with these interesting Bordeaux side-trips: Réserve Ornithologique du Teich (in Le Teich), Chateau Lestevenie (in Gageac-et-Rouillac) and Vertical T'air Parachutisme (in La Teste-de-Buch).
