One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Madurai sits on the banks of the River Vaigai and serves as a center of Tamil culture.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Gandhi Memorial Museum as well as FoodiesDayOut. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Devil's Kitchen and Samanar Hills. Traveling from Bengaluru in July, things will get somewhat warmer in Madurai: highs are around 40°C and lows about 30°C. You will have some time to spend on the 2nd (Sun) before leaving for Coimbatore.

A small town up in the hills, Coonoor has a wealth of scenic sights and pleasant urban places of interest.
Kick off your visit on the 6th (Thu): pause for some serene contemplation at All Saints Church, admire the sheer force of Laws Falls, then play a few rounds at Wellington Gymkhana Club Golf Course, then look for gifts at The Shop, and finally relax in the rural setting at Tranquilitea Gourmet Nilgiri Teas. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take some stellar pictures from Dolphin's Nose, then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Rangaswamy Peak and Pillar, then cruise along Kodanadu View Point, and finally trek along Longwood Shola.
