Designed by notable English architects and proclaimed India's capital in 1931, New Delhi sits in the middle of a sprawling metropolitan area with a population of over 25 million.
Start off your visit on the 8th (Wed): steep yourself in history at India Gate, admire the striking features of Humayun's Tomb, admire the landmark architecture of Rashtrapati Bhavan, then enjoy breathtaking views from Qutub Minar, and finally identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas. Here are some ideas for day two: contemplate the long history of Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Birla Mandir Temple (Lakshmi Narayan), then let your taste buds guide you at a local gastronomic tour, and finally appreciate the history behind National War Memorial.
