One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Madurai sits on the banks of the River Vaigai and serves as a center of Tamil culture.
Change things up with a short trip to Andal Renga Mannar Temple in Srivilliputhur (about 1h 45 min away). And it doesn't end there: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Aayiram Kaal Mandapam, browse the different shops at Majesty Cine Mall, make a trip to Arittapatti Shivan Temple, and see the interesting displays at Gandhi Memorial Museum.
