Big Small Town

The financial hub of Switzerland, Zurich is most often associated with money and banks.
Visiting Lake Zurich and Maennlichen will get you outdoors. Get some historical perspective at Old Town and Einstein House (Einsteinhaus). Venture out of the city with trips to Interlaken (Schlosskirche, Parasailing & Paragliding, &more) and Bern (Galerie Rigassi by SOON & UNESCO-Altstadt von Bern). There's much more to do: take a stroll through Bahnhofstrasse, see the interesting displays at Uhrenmuseum Beyer Zürich, kick back and relax at Strandbad Tiefenbrunnen, and visit Schanzengraben Canal.

Washington DC, USA to Zurich is an approximately 12.5-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 6 hours traveling from Washington DC to Zurich. Traveling from Washington DC in June, expect Zurich to be little chillier, temps between 74°F and 55°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Wed) to allow time to drive to Stuttgart.

Stuttgart spreads across a variety of valleys, parks, and hills--many of them covered by vineyards.
Museum-lovers will appreciate Mercedes-Benz Museum and Medieval Crime Museum (Mittelalterliches Kriminalmuseum). Get some historical perspective at Schloss Heidelberg and Würzburg Residence. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Stuttgart: Heidelberg (Altstadt (Old Town) & Old Bridge (Karl Theodor Bridge)), Wurzburg (Fortress Marienberg & Marienkapelle) and Rothenburg (Ekuko's Wine & Gift Shop, Town Walls, &more). Getting from Zurich to Stuttgart by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: fly; or take a train. In June in Stuttgart, expect temperatures between 73°F during the day and 54°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
