Rotterdam — 9 nights

Manhattan on the Maas

Located in the South Holland province, Rotterdam is one of the Netherlands' most lively cities, as well as one of the largest trading ports in the world.
Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen and Wereldmuseum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Attractions like Het Noordbrabants Museum and Theme Park Plaswijckpark make great kid-friendly stops. Change things up with these side-trips from Rotterdam: Textile Museum (in Tilburg), Railway Museum (Het Spoorwegmuseum) (in Utrecht) and Leiden (National Museum of Antiquities (Rijksmuseum van Oudheden), Young Rembrandt Studio, &more). There's still lots to do: learn about all things military at National Military Museum, steep yourself in history at Muurhuizen, admire the striking features of Witte Huis, and view the masterpieces at The Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery.

For more things to do, reviews, traveler tips, and more tourist information, you can read our Rotterdam online attractions planner.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Eindhoven Airport and Maastricht Aachen Airport. In March, plan for daily highs up to 50°F, and evening lows to 35°F.
