Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Colosseum and St. Peter's Basilica. Kids will enjoy Pantheon and Centro Storico Associazione Centro Storico. Tivoli is a town and comune in Lazio, central Italy, about 30km east-north-east of Rome, at the falls of the Aniene river where it issues from the Sabine hills. Discover out-of-the-way places like Villa d'Este and Santo Stefano di Sessanio. Attractions like Caves of Pastena and Campo Imperatore make great kid-friendly stops.
