A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Paris: Palace of Versailles (in Versailles) and Rouen (Musee des Beaux-Arts de Rouen, Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Rouen, &more). There's lots more to do: admire the masterpieces at Louvre Museum, get a taste of the local shopping with Champs-Elysees, tour the pleasant surroundings at Île de la Cité, and stroll around Luxembourg Gardens.

Venice of the West

Regarded as an art and history city, Nantes is called the Venice of the West.
Start off your visit on the 8th (Wed): walk around Parc de la Beaujoire and then stop by Une ile a part comptoir corse. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: soothe aching muscles at O35, examine the collection at Les Machines de L'ile, then step into the grandiose world of Chateau des Ducs de Bretagne, and finally take in nature's colorful creations at Jardin des Plantes.

On the Garonne River, Toulouse is on the site of an ancient Roman settlement, and even today, many of the smaller streets follow their Roman counterparts, while many of the red brick buildings are built in a pseudo-Roman style.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Toulouse: Carcassonne Center (Lac de Cavayere, Eglise Saint-Nazaire, &more) and Albi (Les Jardins de la Berbie & Cathedrale Sainte-Cecile). Getting from Nantes to Toulouse by flight takes about 3 hours. Other options: drive; or take a train. Traveling from Nantes in June, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be somewhat warmer in Toulouse, with lows of 18°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Sun) early enough to catch the flight back home.
