Mali's capital and the fastest-growing city in Africa, Bamako acts as a major port, as well as a cultural and industrial center.
Musee National de Bamako and Cathedral of Bamako are good opportunities to explore the local culture. There's much more to do: explore the wealth of natural beauty at Parc national du Mali, Bamako, make a trip to Bamako Grand Mosque, pause for some photo ops at Monument de l"Independance, and hunt for treasures at Bamako City Centre Market.

Originally a small fishing village, Mopti has become Mali's center of fishing and livestock industries.
Get a sense of the local culture at Bandiagara Cliffs (Dogon Country) and Great Mosque Of Djenne. Change things up with a short trip to Jenne-Jeno in Djenne (about 2h 15 min away). There's still lots to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Grand Mosque of Mopti.
