Monte Carlo of Switzerland

Located in the popular holiday region of Ticino, Lugano is the largest Italian-speaking town in Switzerland.
Attractions like Lake Lugano and Santa Maria degli Angioli make great kid-friendly stops. Get some cultural insight at Monte San Giorgio and LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura. Next up on the itinerary: stroll around Parco Ciani, pause for some serene contemplation at Chiesa San Rocco, appreciate the extensive heritage of Centro storico Gandria, and get great views at Monte Bre.

Drive from Lugano to Basel in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Lugano in June, expect little chillier with lows of 15°C in Basel. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Thu) early enough to catch the flight back home.
