Surrounded by mountain ranges, forests, valleys, beaches, and deserts, the metropolitan area of Los Angeles is home to over 17 million people.
Do some cultural sightseeing at USS Midway Museum and Griffith Observatory. Venture out of the city with trips to Disneyland Park (in Anaheim), San Diego (San Diego Model Railroad Museum & Timken Museum of Art) and Santa Monica Farmers Market (in Santa Monica). There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at The Getty Center, take a leisurely stroll along Santa Monica Pier, admire the masterpieces at Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and shop like a local with Montana Avenue.

Washington to Los Angeles is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Pacific Standard Time (PST), which is usually a -3 hour difference.
