Surrounded by mountain ranges, forests, valleys, beaches, and deserts, the metropolitan area of Los Angeles is home to over 17 million people.
Get a sense of the local culture at Wine Tours & Tastings and The Broad. Step off the beaten path and head to Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum and Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Step out of Los Angeles to go to Malibu and see The Getty Villa, which is approximately 32 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: examine the collection at Hollywood Bowl Museum, take in nature's colorful creations at The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens, enjoy the sand and surf at Santa Monica State Beach, and get to know the fascinating history of Santa Monica Pier.

Washington to Los Angeles is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time to Pacific Standard Time, which is usually a -3 hour difference.
