10 days in Interlaken & Montreux Itinerary

Nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz in the heart of the Jungfrau region, Interlaken became popular for its proximity to the mountains and lakes of the Bernese Oberland region.

Get some cultural insight at Old Town and Bahnhofstrasse. Bring the kids along to Harderkulm and Lake Lucerne. Dublin, Ireland to Interlaken is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of ferry, train, and bus; or do a combination of ferry and car. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Dublin to Interlaken. In May, daytime highs in Interlaken are 20°C, while nighttime lows are 8°C. You will have some time to spend on the 5th (Sun) before leaving for Montreux.

Kids will appreciate attractions like Chateau de Chillon and Chaplin's World. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Queen Studio Experience and Musée de Montreux. Step out of Montreux with an excursion to Gruyeres Castle in Gruyeres--about 40 minutes away. You can drive from Interlaken to Montreux in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or do a combination of bus and train. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Wed) to allow enough time to fly back home.
