10 days in Interlaken & Montreux Itinerary

Nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz in the heart of the Jungfrau region, Interlaken became popular for its proximity to the mountains and lakes of the Bernese Oberland region.

Get some cultural insight at Old Town and Einstein House (Einsteinhaus). Explore Interlaken's surroundings by going to Mt Pilatus (in Kriens), Lucerne (Verkehrshaus der Schweiz & Chapel Bridge) and UNESCO-Altstadt von Bern (in Bern). Next up on the itinerary: fly like a bird with a parasailing or paragliding tour, tee off at Golf Club Interlaken-Unterseen, look for gifts at Buchhandlung Boedeli, and get outside with Freiluft- und Hallenbad Boedeli.

Stockholm, Sweden to Interlaken is an approximately 8-hour combination of flight and train. You can also drive; or take a train. Expect a daytime high around 8°C in November, and nighttime lows around 0°C. You'll have a few hours on the 6th (Sun) to wrap things up before traveling to Montreux.

Mostly known for its world-renowned jazz festival, Montreux serves as a picturesque lakeside resort town on the Swiss Riviera.

Get a sense of the local culture at Swiss Riviera Wine Tours and Chateau de Chillon. Take a break from Montreux with a short trip to The Olympic Museum Lausanne (Musee Olympique) in Lausanne, about 34 minutes away. Getting from Interlaken to Montreux by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: take a train; or do a combination of bus and train. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Thu) so you can fly back home.
