Leh — 2 nights

The former capital of the Kingdom of Ladakh, Leh possesses a historic old town area marked by stupas, monasteries, and traditional mud-brick houses.
Kick off your visit on the 18th (Thu): take in the spiritual surroundings of Spituk Monastery, see the interesting displays at Stok Palace Museum, and then learn something new at Hazara Arts Leh. Keep things going the next day: pause for some photo ops at Shey Monastery, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Thiksey Monastery, and then examine the collection at Old Raku House.

Dublin, Ireland to Leh is an approximately 18-hour flight. The time zone changes from Greenwich Mean Time to India Standard Time, which is usually a 5.5 hour difference. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 19th (Fri) so you can catch the flight to New Delhi.

Start off your visit on the 20th (Sat): take in panoramic vistas at Qutub Minar, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Humayun's Tomb, and then contemplate the long history of India Gate.

You can fly from Leh to New Delhi in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus, taxi, and train. In August, plan for daily highs up to 40°C, and evening lows to 31°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Sat) to allow enough time to fly to Udaipur.
