Geneva brings the world to one small city with a huge expat population and the highest number of international organizations in any one city.
Get some cultural insight at Cathedrale de Saint-Pierre and Musee D'Art Et D'Histoire. Take a break from the city and head to Lake Geneva and Plage de Port-Choiseul. The adventure continues: see the interesting displays at International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum, admire the masterpieces at Fondation Baur, Musee des Arts d’Extreme-Orient, enjoy the sand and surf at Bains des Paquis, and view the masterpieces at MB&F M.A.D.Gallery.

Washington, USA to Geneva is an approximately 14.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Central European Standard Time (CET), which is usually a 6 hour difference. While traveling from Washington, expect slightly colder days and about the same nights in Geneva, ranging from highs of 61°F to lows of 41°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 19th (Mon) so you can go by car to Basel.

Basel — 6 nights

Situated where the Swiss, German, and French borders meet, Basel is considered the hub of Dreilandereck, this "three countries corner." Its location makes Basel a center of culture and history, brimming with important theaters and museums.
Shop till you drop at Bahnhofstrasse and Altstadt Luzern. Museum-lovers will get to explore Museum Rietberg and Museum Tinguely. Explore Basel's surroundings by going to Mt Pilatus (in Kriens), BirdLife-Naturzentrum Neeracherried (in Neerach) and Zurich (Glen Fahrn 'the Pearl' Zurich, Niederdorf, &more). There's much more to do: get engrossed in the history at Basel Paper Mill - Swiss Museum for Paper, Writing and Printing, admire the masterpieces at Kunsthalle Basel, contemplate the long history of Basel Minster, and examine the collection at Museum Kleines Klingental.

Traveling by car from Geneva to Basel takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or do a combination of bus and train. Expect a daytime high around 61°F in April, and nighttime lows around 40°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 25th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.
