Bordeaux — 9 nights

The Port of the Moon

With a long history of producing regional wines since the Romans brought grapevines here during the first century, so many people consider Bordeaux to be the wine capital of the world.
Place de la Bourse and Chateau Cantenac are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Change things up with these side-trips from Bordeaux: Cathedrale Sainte-Marie de Bayonne (in Bayonne), La Rochelle (Vieux Port & Aquarium La Rochelle) and Biarritz (Cite de l'Ocean, Phare de Biarritz, &more). There's much more to do: admire the striking features of La Cite du Vin, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Andre Cathedral, take a stroll through Promenade Sainte Catherine, and examine the collection at Le Musee de la Bande Dessinee.
