Bethesda — 3 nights

Bethesda is a census-designated place in southern Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, located just northwest of the U.S. capital of Washington, D.C. It takes its name from a local church, the Bethesda Meeting House (1820, rebuilt 1849), which in turn took its name from Jerusalem's Pool of Bethesda. Get in touch with nature at Devils Den and B&A Trail. Discover out-of-the-way places like Cabin John Regional Park and Capitol Crescent. Get out of town with these interesting Bethesda side-trips: Delaplane (RdV Vineyards & Sky Meadows State Park), Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge (in Rock Hall) and NRA National Firearms Museum (in Fairfax). There's lots more to do: trek along Quiet Waters Park, head off the coast to Kent Island, immerse yourself in nature at Caledonia State Park, and appreciate the history behind State of Alabama Monument.
