You won't run out of things to do in Marrakech, a city where you can spend days exploring grandiose palaces and mosques, photogenic gardens, sacred tombs, and traditional mansions that evoke a bygone era.
Kick off your visit on the 8th (Tue): slough off your stress at Turkish baths, then steep yourself in history at Koutoubia Mosque, then stroll the grounds of Saadian Tombs, and finally examine the collection at Marrakech Museum. More than 20 million people call Cairo their home and, as soon as you set foot in the sprawling metropolis, it's evident they make it crowded and chaotic, but also exuberant and charming.
On the 11th (Fri), contemplate the long history of Mosque of Sultan Al-Ashraf Barsbay, then steep yourself in history at Pyramids of Giza, then steep yourself in history at Great Sphinx, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Hanging Church (El Muallaqa, Sitt Mariam, St Mary). Keep things going the next day: examine the collection at The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, then take a stroll through Islamic Cairo, and then walk around Al-Azhar Park.
