Tingieterij Holland, Zaandam

In the museum - an open-air exposition of a typical Dutch landscape, in addition to unique examples of wooden architecture of the 17th - 18th centuries (wooden houses, windmills), museums, etc., you can visit workshops. The Zaanse Schans presents: a cheese farm; production of clogs (traditional wooden shoes); weaving workshop; cooperage (production of barrels); chocolate workshop; a liquor store and a tin workshop. Tin casting is rare today, because it has not been replaced by machine production. Here you can watch the master at work and buy pewter products from souvenirs to kitchen utensils. All products are cast by hand. According to some sources, one of the last remaining tinsmiths in the Netherlands works here. The workshop is open seven days a week, but depending on the season, the time is different: from April to September from 10.00 to 18.00, and the rest of the time from 11.00 to 16.00.
