Right in the middle of the city square. An impressive building among other smaller buildings around the square. A typical Dutch style. Didn’t not visit inside of the building due to corona.

This is a historical building and we really felt privileged to be able to view its halls and exhibits. Going through this place you understand what a powerfull city Middelburg has been. It becomes clear why New Zealand bears the name of a small region of a small European country. When you see the glory of the halls and reminders of size and importance of commerce you understand where the Dutch pride comes from! If you miss this you will not miss any particular item but you will definitely miss the atmosphere and an opportunity to fantasize about how this place must have been used in historical times.

It is an iconic building from the outside with its painted window slats. There was an exhibition on when we visited which happened to be free to enter on Wednesdays. Not much to see around the building otherwise.
