Unfortunately I couldn't get to Hoorn because there was an NS train strike on the day that I had booked to travel. Thanks to an email from the museum, I was made aware that there would be problems...

What a wonderful adventure! Feels like you’ve travelled through time. There is a little cafe and museum at the station. The train has a stop at another station on the way to Medemblick, where you can explore how it looked in the past. The road is especially beautiful when the tulip fields are blooming!

Amazing ride on a Christmas steam train. Great experience for kids to travel on a real steam train and also meet Santa and get a little present. And the tour of the museum on the way back, that was also very interesting and fun. Totally recommend for the families with kids, or even babies.
