Step into the life of William the Silent and view paintings from the Dutch Golden Age at Museum Prinsenhof Delft. The 16th-century Dutch Prince of Orange made his home at the complex, originally built as a monastery in the Middle Ages. Today the urban palace houses a municipal museum displaying a collection of Dutch Golden Age paintings. Tour the museum with a guide or headset, and view exhibits on Delftware imitation porcelain, famous Delft residents, and William the Silent. See where his assassination took place; you'll see the bullet holes still visible in the walls. • A landmark location in the middle of Delft where the life of William the Silent ended. Great exhibition of his life and other great Delfts artists. Very well kept and valuable collection!

  • One of the best museum visits I have had in the Netherlands. The most fascinating is that the bullet holes from when Willem van Oranje was murdered in 1584, is conserved in the wall. There is a light animation showing where he walked and from where he was shot. Fascinating stuff! Entrance is free with the museum card.
  • Beautiful museum, which gives a great summary of art and artists from Delft. Very interesting history of King Willem of Orange, in a building that him and his family once occupied. The history of the building itself is also varied and fascinating. A definite must-see for art & history lovers. Staff are also friendly & facilities are clean and neat.
