  • This was our best, most fun experience in the Netherlands. Background: the farm is operated by 4th generation Dutch farmers. They’ve kept the operation true to its original purposes: dairy and clog-making. Off the beaten path but easily accessed from the main roads; there’s ample parking for your family vehicle or a whole tour bus. Bring your kids—everybody—this place is built for families and anyone wanting an immersion in Dutch history. Email the family ahead of time, and they’ll take you on a tour of the farm. Start with the cow barn (including seeing the 1.5 day old calves!), then move into the clog making room. They use similar methods that have been used for 100s of years—even their “modern” machine is 100 years old. From there, you get to see how the cheese is made, including samplings of their best cheese. The shop has walls of cheese and clogs for purchase, as well as all sorts of Holland gifts and collectibles. 2 hours is about as long as you’ll spend there, so this makes a great add-on to a trip to Amsterdam. Bonus: they are very English language friendly. Language won’t be your barrier with fluent English, German, and Dutch being spoken on site.
  • This place is a must if you’re in the are! We have been here a couple of times while visiting the tulip fields. This place is great for the kiddos and adults alike. Everyone working here is very sweet and always super helpful. We enjoy the free demonstration of clog making and the cheese making of course! My kids favorite part is visiting the cows and their calf’s.
