Big Buddha Phuket, Phuket Town

This is a cool place with a great view! Annoyingly people fly drones around which spoils the atmosphere. But if you at sunset you can see it in the day and then lit up at night which is beautiful. There is nothing inside, but you can walk around and there are meditation spaces too. They have a dress code of shoulders, belly and knees covered so make sure you’re dressed appropriately. The views over the bay are wonderful too. I recommend spending about 15 min here.

Get blessings from the monk, make donations, send blessing and requests… other than all the Buddhism goodness, it is quite cooling in shaded areas as it’s on a mountain top. Although parts of the Big Buddha is still under restoration work, it’s the best time to donate and add a marble tile, I’ve made wishes in 2019 and life has been much better even during COViD period. Now I’m back for thanksgiving and to strengthen the faith. Though I’m non-Buddhist. The viewpoint here of all the island … is amazing!!! Very nice for photo taking too!!!
