Arwad Island, Tartus

#3 of 6 in Parks in Syria
Must see · Island · Nature / Park
See Syria's only inhabited island at Arwad Island, where you can meet the locals and learn about their way of life. Start on the coast to see the busy harbor and the fishers with their boats, and then head deeper into town, wandering the narrow streets, stopping for a bite to eat or to buy souvenirs. Don't miss the old fort on the small hill, built in the Crusader period. For Arwad Island and beyond, use our Tartus holiday planning app to get the most from your Tartus vacation.
