There are many moose meandering in Sweden, but I have never seen one as we drive around. Swedes tell me this is good. Moose accidents on the highway are not infrequent and often end in death for all..... more

Great place to experience moose up close. There were four babies plus the adults in the outdoor fenced area. It costs a few kroners to feed them and help keep the facility open. They seem humanely treated and have plenty of access to shelter and water. We went during the hot summer months and got to see two moose enjoy being hosed down for added temperature control. The facility also has a gift shop/small museum which also serves fika :) The owners speak English well, as is the case in most Swedish tourist destinations since people from Germany and other countries frequent them. This is definitely a place worth going to as there is also so much natural beauty in the surrounding countryside.
